Privacy
Short version: we store your email, the things you saved, and nothing we do not need. We do not sell your data and there are no advertising trackers on this site.
What we store

What we do not store
- Card numbers or bank details. Stripe handles payment; we hold an identifier only.
- Passwords, if you sign in with a magic link or Google.
- Advertising identifiers. There are no ad networks or social pixels on this site.
- Your precise location. A ZIP or a map viewport is used for the query and not retained against your account.
Analytics and logs
Our servers keep short-lived operational logs (request path, status, timing) for debugging and abuse prevention. Where we log an IP address for rate limiting it is stored hashed. We do not run third-party analytics that profile you across sites.
Cookies
One cookie, for your session, set only once you sign in. It is strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why there is no consent banner — there is nothing optional to consent to.
We send sign-in links, alerts you have explicitly asked for, and occasional service notices. Every alert has an unsubscribe link and alert settings are per-saved-search. We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.
Sharing
We share data only with the services that run Throttle: our hosting provider, Stripe for payments and Resend for email. We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass your details to dealers. When you click through to a dealer's site you leave Throttle, and their privacy policy applies from that point.
Listing data
Listings themselves come from public dealer websites and are not personal data about you. If you list a machine yourself, what you publish is public. Dealer removal requests are handled under ThrottleBot within 24 hours.
Your rights
Email [email protected] to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account entirely. Deletion removes your account, saved listings, saved searches and notifications. We will action it within 30 days and usually within a day.
Children
Throttle is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly hold their data.
Changes
Material changes are announced on the site before they take effect. The date at the top is always current.
